more sound out of the standard exhaust???

can I get more sound out of the standard exhaust? I think the rear exhaust. Can I cut it up and remove anything inside? Or?

its a 320i exhaust

Just remove the whole thing!

I had to cut the tail pipe back to the valance due to rust then I put an exhaust trim on it to make it look better.the exhaust sounded noticeably louder.holes in the lower half of the air box makes the exhaust louder too.
