Looked at the ever growing black patch on the drive this morning reminding me that I really need to fit my new steering rack. So much PS fluid has slowly spread on the ground that it's starting to look like leather.diable wrote:

noticed at the same time that the front pads are very thin, which is a shame because we're due to go away this weekend and Mrs has just informed me that her MOT is up on Saturday on the E46.
Gah.
Wynns ATF treatment on next day delivery and I've managed to beg a slot off a friendly local garage for the brakes tomorrow.
DanThe... got any E46 racks/pipes in stock?

I picked up an E46 067 rack off DanThe along with his hoses, a while back. Am slowly collecting all bits to do a bush overhaul at the same time.. But likewise the MOT's due soon so might have to just put the rack in for now..Morat wrote:Yeah, same here. Cleaned, g3'd, waxed, rubbed rust down to bare metal, then prepped with zinc primer, awaiting red spray can, then blend in with g3 for now.

So, after repeated calls from the garage...
a quick change of front pads became F/R Pads, Disks and Handbrake Shoes. Driver's side backing plate is rusted so will need a bodge plate to stop the handbrake pulling through. Front Driver's side calliper seized, no replacement available till Monday.
E46 MOT up on Saturday, booked for Monday.
Going to have to hire a bloody Focus

TPS do you think that little dink in the pulley to the right of the mole grips will be okay and not wear the belt down when refitted?
