hi just thought I would introduce myself, was an avid member a few years ago but had a change of scene and dove into Mitsubishi evos for a while but to my delight I'm back on the e30 scene :D

I had been admiring a local gents 325i sport for years and after trying to prize It from his hands around 6 or 7 years ago and politely being told no chance I finally managed to get my hands on it after he was unfortunately took ill

the gent had owned it since 1996 and passed it onto his son in 2004 so has technically only had two owners although the log book says three

she's a February '91 325i sport auto in sterling silver with full black leather, showing 120k on the clock and full bmw history up to 2008 then a local specialist until 2010 when the car was taken off the road. I have all the mots from new and full bmw document wallet and spare keys etc and stacks upon stacks of receipts

I got her for a steal at £1100 after having 4 new tyres a new genuine bmw middle and rear exhaust system, full service and thermostat only a few weeks before hand.

after driving her round for 6 months I decided it was time to tackle the rusty rear arches and scuttle panel (owning my own body shop in Manchester came in handy lol) as the previous owner parked the car on a grass verge for 14 years approx. you can imagine what the moisture and condensation had done to the car:(

so after a day of ripping the car to pieces and plenty of tapping with a corrosion hammer I discovered both rear arches were shagged and both inner rear aches where non existent, a hole in the corner under the windscreen I knew about and the bottom of the drivers wing came completely off with the wing, for some reason 90% of the rust was on the drivers side

anyways a weeks worth of welding later and shes ready for paint prep so thought I would upload some pics of where I am up to and my plans for her

yer I think imho sterling looks a bit more up to date as some of the earlier bmw silvers can look a bit dull

seats just want a good going over with some leather feed to get them looking mint again, knowing I was going to be doing some major therapy to the car I left all the niggly perfectionist bits till I finish the paint
