So as we all know, a form of spacer has to be used with an E36 or 46 rack to mount it in the subframe. However, has anyone pondered whether it's better to put the spacers on top or on bottom? Or how about four half sized spacers to sit the rack evenly?
Anyone have any views on this? Mine are mounted on top, as it seemed easier to fit. Does this affect how the car drives, maybe leading to a slight tendency to bump steer or is the different too small to worry about.

To keep the rack as close to factory position as possible the spacers need to go on top

Well that ended that quickly. Fair enough though.
