Hi guys,
2 quick questions!
Does the Bentley manual include, a strip down/re-build of the pedal assembly or not?
Has anyone bought a replacement scuttle panel for their standard E30?If you have, can you let me know what you paid?
Cheers

Scuttle panel is brazed on. You can order them from BMW.
As for the Bentley; it's a service manual, and stripping down the pedal box is not part of a normal service. So no, it's not in there.

What do you mean by stripping down a pedal box?
As far as taking the thing apart, it's very easy. But if you wanted to replace all the rose joints and bearings then that's taking it a step too far. I disassembled mine when I went from auto to manual as the backplate of the pedal box I was given was a different shape from mine.

Note that BMW will supply the panel with your VIN stamped into it. Unfortunately, the task of stamping this into the panel often appears to be assigned to the workshop junior, five minutes before knocking off time on a Friday night - something which shows through in the quality of the work.
If this panel is to go on any kind of 'restored' E30, make sure you make it clear when you order it that you will reject it if the numbering isn't up to close to the original standard.

Do they give it you sprayed the right colour and do you just take it in with your reg docs and they print the vin on and spray it?gary wrote:I bought one for my M3 in 2007 and cost me £34 I think

It doesn't come sprayed, you need to get that done after it's fitted.
You provide your BMW dealer with the VIN number and it comes from the factory/warehouse stamped.

Yep take your log book, and I imagine proof of address and photographic ID as well.
