Mechanically seems spot on, I few rust patches need treating but there only surface rust and ideally could do with a interior, or at least drivers seat.

Generally shell wise, reasonably tidy, if its dry tomorrow will tcut it and spray the grills and bumpers gloss black to freshen it up.

Luckily I have lots of spares from a convertible I broke.

Only 2 owners from new, has original dealer stickers on it, 140,000 miles. Think some old dear had it, as they had a cushion to sit on and a blanket in the car, they clearly loved it though, as the boot had a wicker basket, with engine oil, brake fluid, screenwash, wax etc etc.

How come you got this Matt? Looks clean, 320i?

This what you need the wheels for? I'll give you a bell tomorrow about them, they're nice.

Saw it at the right price and thought why not really. don't know if it was a good or bad idea, but generally happy withit to be fair.

320i auto, planning to convert to either a 325i m20b25 manual, or 328i m50 manual.

I've got the manual gearbox off my first 2.0 convertible, so need to gradually get hold of a 2.5 engine, pedal box, slave cylinder, all associated tubing and manual ecu.

The wheels will probably be for the convertible. What do you think for the coupe 14 inch bottletops or bbs's? The bottletops are mint condition to be fair.

Its different, probably wouldnt of gone for red out of choice, but with a good tcut and bodywork treatment, I think it will come up pretty good.

Nice find 8)
I reckon leave it an auto and V8 it. Even the M60b30 would make it a nice cruiser :)

I learnt from my red 2dr, Tcut won't touch the paint if its faded. Farecla G3 and a decent rotary mop got mine from pink to red, but you need to be careful as its abrasive stuff and will rub through the paint, especially on edges where the paint is thin.

I used Tcut and Tcut colour magic stuff when I first got my 2dr and although it made it look better and shiny, the effect only lasted a month or two. With the G3 compound, the car was still red a year later and I didn't wash or polish it at all in that year!

I started at 8 this morning g3 it by hand which is knackering, treated rust, rubbed down to bare metal, used fine filler, zinc primer, just need some red paint now. Also in the process of spraying all the trim gloss black, then autosol the chrome, finished by a wax, its coming up nice already.

The existing ECU can be used - there's no difference between manual and auto ECUs.

You can even use it with an M20B25 - just change the chip to suit.

thanks guys, some more pics of my grans e30 after a g3 rub down, chrome polish, wax, rust repairs, back to black, sprayed kidney and headlight grills gloss black, the paintwork looks mint now.

Im genuinely suprised how mint the paintwork has come up apart from the odd rust spot, it almost looks as if its been resprayed.
