I have just purchased a very nice one with 67k miles from new with full BMW service history.
2 owners, last owner had the car from 1994. It is in Lachs silver with cloth Interior. i paid a lot to get the car, i had been searching for a while and could not find any thing really nice and genuine. The car was not advertised for sale on any forums etc, but let just say it was a 5 figure sum.
But i hope the prices start to rise or it could have been an over priced purchase, but i suppose only time will tell.

It's not the most accurate thing though, and only reflects current prices. It can't predict the future.Lurch320i wrote:There's a price guide in the wiki

I'd of bought barrels of oil or a case of wine. Forget the wine I'd just get pissed and drink it

Just for comparison I paid £2700 for my sport with 78k, 4 owners, zero rot and FBMWSH in 2009...and promptly gutted the turd and caged it up for Motorsport use

It's the OP's choice, but one does wonder what it's like under the body kit.
As Pete commented, good, low miles cars will increase in value. The fragging of the rusty turds will only help the proccess.

I paid over 4K for mine, with 227K on the clock,

Mileage is irrelevant until you've seen what the mechanicals are like / what lies beneath the kit & carpets in my opinion!

Yes not been on here long but I have noticed how people are groomed into so called "fragging" Is this to keep the spares low and the values updaimlerman wrote:It's the OP's choice, but one does wonder what it's like under the body kit.

In many cases, the rusty/less desirable versions are worth more in bits than they are as complete cars.BMWdriver wrote:Thanks. Sad to see e30s go to waste.
You need time, patience and spare room to properly break any car for a profit.

Prices have already risen for sports and will continue to do so. Even if the car is like brand new, you have paid well over the odds. You need them to keep appreciating to get you out of negative equity.dbell wrote:I have just purchased a very nice one with 67k miles from new with full BMW service history.

Values are only going to increase for well kept models, but five figures for a 67k Sport? I'm afraid I would want a sub 40k, FBMSH, MINT, 1-2 owner vehicle for that. One day it may be worth that much, but it'll take a long long time to get a return on that, and you won't be able to put any real mileage on it in the meantime

There needs to be a "This thread is worthless without punctuation" image.
From the pictures you posted when you bought it, circa £3,500 providing it doesn't have hidden rot, which is likely.

He's 72 if you are thinking what I did. Not enough time to save doing one's b0ll0cks on a £10k+ sport.Topblag wrote:Prices have already risen for sports and will continue to do so. Whilst the mileage is high on yours I still don't think you got a badthat bad a deal with your turd, especially after selling the private plate. Rolling on genuine Alpinas and all the expensive body and paintwork had been done. You just had to finish the out of site rust which is much easier and cheaper than replacing rear arches and quarters.Meatballs82 wrote:I paid over 4K for mine, with 227K on the clock,

We aren't "hating". Just commenting on his stupid decision!
You might not care for grammar, but we do. It doesn't take a second to use a few punctuation marks and it makes it a lot easier for us to read.

the problem with correcting grammer is it makes those who persist doing it look smarter than they actually are
