As above want a more lasting effect the back to black. Would satin black paint do a good job?
Does anyone know a better method?

I purchased some Autoglym Bumper & Trim Gel from Halfords the other week. Stuff is great! Really cleans up worn plastic and lasts very well too

i have read then heating the plastics up with a heat gun restors the colour. i dont know how it works, but it might be worth looking in to for a more perminent solution than back to blacking.

gently heating will indeed restore the finish, then feed it some silicone and viola !

is it a more perminent solution or will it dry out and fade again in no time? i have been considering doing this for ages now.

With the heating method. It all depends on how far faded it has gone... Ive just tried it on some grey/white coloured scuttle vents and it didnt restore them... Somethings just need painting!

you would need a LOT of time and patience and steady hand to heat gun them and get an even nice finish on on long bumper trims

Linseed oil. Just don't use with cotton rags.
Two headblenders, couple of bags of MC Hammer, 5 litres of FFF, a 48ft bastard, a box of jumped-up custard and some soggy chimps
