Sorry, I've posted a few questions over the past few days, but as my car has been off the road for about 18 months I have a lot of questions stored up. My use of the forum tends to increase as I use the car...
My Car passed it's MOT with only a few advisories.
However I thought it was running rich asthe fumes smell quite a bit of petrol when running.
The sheet says that the CO reading was 0.64% and the HC reading was 71ppm.
I only ask because that seems to e to be way under the limits?
Plus my fuel economy is quite terrible (as I recall).
Do those readings seem okay?

Assuming your turd is a non cat car, them readings are very good, though a tad 'lean' which can lead to a fumey exhaust. I try and aim for 1%- 1.5% when setting them up.
Obviously being a quattroporte, maybe now is the time to consider fragging it ?

Airleaks are the first culprit. Also have you had the injectors cleaned at all?

Will lean running impact the economy? Would the lean running be caused by an air leak?
God it's never ending... (Love that car).
It is obviously always worth having a good look around for air leaks and potential ones but your excellent hydrocarbon readings (PPMs ) indicate that all is welI .
Once you have gone over the intake side for leaks (spray WD40 or similar and listen for a rise in revs)I would go back to the test station and give them a drink to tweak it up to 1-1.5%

Cheers, for that. Checking for air leaks and cleaning injectors in on my to do list. I do occaionally have an issue with it hunting when warm, but it's intermittent and I can't seem to recreate the issue.
Would lean running affect the MPG?
I'm not sure what I should be getting, but as I recall the OBC reckons I'm getting 18 ish, so god knows what the real number is.
I'll do a brim to brim when I can to check properly, but what could I reasonably expect to get from a full tank in the 325?
Car is with topless at the moment... I'll see what he thinks after he's had a play with it.
