Depends on mileage, owners, history. Good low mileage low owner car have been sold for £6-7k, but more likely worth £5-5500. An ordinary run of the mill average condition one is worth £3-4000.

I'm restoring mine at the moment, cost me £2400, about £1500 in suspension, bearings, bushes, brakes etc, £2000 at the the bodyshop. It's going to owe me around £6500, but I don't intend selling it any time soon. The hope is that it will appreciate over the next 5 years.

I'm assuming it's a tech 2?

If you fix it up and keep it, you'll get your money back. Get a price from a bodyshop for all the work and that'll help your decision.

The value guide above is good and will help you.

It sounds like rubbish. Unless it is a 60000 mile low owner car with lots of history, you will never get your money back by repairing it to a decent standard..

Frag it or put it on Ebay and see if you can snare a dreamer whose ideas are bigger than his wallet :)

A Sport is a tarted up 325i with some bolt-on morsels and a name in a logbook that some people equate with an extra 0 on the For Sale price. If you want a long term investment then get your chequebook out, write out the five grand it's going to cost to recommission your car, and hope that in a few years time someone wants to take it off your hands to cover the costs.

If you don't have that cash knocking around, just unbolt the LSD and bodykit and sell them on for a quick buck, and scrap the rest.

The BEST thing about sports is that they break well! :)

There's easily £800 quid in an Mtech kit and LSD these days and a grand if advertised right!
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

Wish there were less people interested in breaking them up to make money, and more people interested in fixing them up to keep them. On the plus side, every time one gets fragged, it makes them a touch rarer
