Hello people
I'm new to this so I apologise in advance if this is in the wrong place lol
I'm from the North East and was at a local monthly meet yesterday at Sea View performance and there was an e30 Zone business card thing left under my wipers and I was just wondering who it was haha
The car is a 318 saloon if that helps haha

Welcome
It wasn't me, but the business cards are there to hopefully bring in new members who own E30s but are not aware of this forum. I hope you find us useful, and don't be scared of the locals. Most of them bark but rarely bite...
Cheers,
Morat

First time I've witnessed a "spotted/was it you" thread have a result.. Not to say I don't enjoy the banter that usually unfolds.
Well done Magpie for popping a card on his car.

Unfortunately I was already a member but all good
lol
both front and back plates are pre-73 plates and had no agro as of yet and I've done like 300+ miles
And I have no clue what colour its meant to be all I know is it polishes up well and will benefit from a machine polish. Where do I check the colour code on this thing?

you probably wont have any agro until trying to get an MOT and they wont issue one, had the same with German plates non MOT legal apparently but they police don't seem to bothered.

I've not had a police or MOT issue with my 'D' plates, only person to mention them was the RAC bloke at a breakdown.Rich320I wrote:you probably wont have any agro until trying to get an MOT and they wont issue one, had the same with German plates non MOT legal apparently but they police don't seem to bothered.

Ummm don't think it has a code there, but the name of the colour should be on it. It's a black rectangle sticker with silver writing, will most likely be in Germanlistere30 wrote:Yeah there is a plate there.

After the name is the paint code, right hand side of the label iirc.Chris_B86 wrote:Ummm don't think it has a code there, but the name of the colour should be on it. It's a black rectangle sticker with silver writing, will most likely be in German
E: Looking on google, it could be left or right.

I'll have a walk to my car on my break and have a look and someone on here can help me
The plate were only meant to be on over the weekend but the car is getting a lot of good attention with them because they are different
I had a guy taking photos and stuff at a car wash yesterday

well the MOT guy that played up about them, subsequently failed to notice a horn that didn't work and a brake light out.FinalD wrote:I've not had a police or MOT issue with my 'D' plates, only person to mention them was the RAC bloke at a breakdown.Rich320I wrote:you probably wont have any agro until trying to get an MOT and they wont issue one, had the same with German plates non MOT legal apparently but they police don't seem to bothered.
however im pretty sure the regulations do state the number plate must be correct for the country the car is registered in. for instance unless your car was registered in germany effectively your plates are fake. i still run mine, and swap them over at MOT time, was just saying they are technically not lawful so far as i know.

Yeah, technically mine are an MOT fail, the car came with them though and I've not bothered to get a new legal set made up. MOT in Feb was fine, driven around loads of police cars too, I will eventually bother to get some replacements.Rich320I wrote: well the MOT guy that played up about them, subsequently failed to notice a horn that didn't work and a brake light out.

Put the last seven characters of your VIN in here: http://www.bmwarchiv.de/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html
That will tell you the colour it left the factory wearing.

To be fair most the reds end in 'rot' must be a kraut thing. Do you know if its ever been damaged? Just odd not to have the sticker unless its been painted in the bay

It means Wine Red/Burgandy in German, so not as bad as it sounds.

99% that is burgundrot because the car used to live in Staffordshire I am sure
How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.
