It's an 1800 and she'll have the solex pierburg, but thankfully not the dreaded 2BE. If you can find a good one, a twin choke solex and manifold from an earlier 320 or 2002 will fit and give a tad more powaaaah. Looks like Lapis blue as well, a great colour when polished up. I'd leave the steelz on. There was a Lapisblau 316 at Gaydon last year, mint and standard - looked amazing.

That's a lovely looking thing and I do tend to echo Everett's sentiments, leave it looking stock on the steelies, just have everything running tip top on the mechanical front.

Andyboy wrote:As a really novel idea, why not leave it bog standard? Too many E21's are being ruined now (M52, coiloverz, front bumper removed etc etc etc)and it's nice to see a clean standard one.
Agreed, anything I do change the standard parts will be kept incase I want to revert it to standard. It may get a 20mm drop or something on a good spring kit and some nice wheels but other than that I just want to get it looking fresh again. The interior needs work but the main thing right now is to get the running smooth and the suspension joints etc all tightened up

Oi, middle age farts... Let the boy do as he pleases :D

It would look beaut left standard with the steelies, but did any of us want to leave our cars standard when we first started driving?

Some BBS RMs and a drop is all that car needs, the rest of it you can go OEM homo on 8)

superb mate, love that E21..my mate has a stock 320 and its such a nice car...the E21's are now becoming rather sort after and climbing in price.

Look after it, get it sorted and you should more than make your money back when you come to sell it (mind i doubt you will want to sell this one in a hurry)

My guess would be terrifying, drove it to work and performance is not the key idea behind these cars. The seats are sprung and bouncy ( they have suspension ) and the suspension is soooooooooo soft its mad.
Il be making a video later so il go over the car and do a wee tour of it and show how soft it is.

Was fun driving to work, people wave and smile

That's an ace first car mate. Looks tidy. Drop it 40mm and forget alloys - clean up the steelies, do a Weber carb conversion, delete the centre box and it will look and sound the t*ts. :)

Edit: or a set of polished up E30 bottletops...

Its a 316, He is only in with a chance if they are double amputees :) We will need pics ! :D

On the subject of pics, I am waiting patiently for rust / bodge pics :D

Most E21s are horrid corpses on stretchers clinging to bent MOTs and they were like that twenty years ago :(

Hopefully yours will be the exception to the rule but I will be very suprised 8O

Dont judge until youve seen. This thing is fucking solid. Im replacing a wing and a sil. and thats it. Everything else is fine, couple patches and that it. The shell is great. Im making a video later so you will see.
