Hi guys, I know this has been posted before but the search function seems to be faulty.
I cant remember what needs to be replaced exactly when sorting out a wobbly/loose gearshift?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers in advance

Just ask your local bmw dealer for a repair kit. Plus it's a good opportunity to fit the short shift conversion if not already done!

That should have the part numbers, although they may of changed since that was written.
If you're replacing the worn bits anyway, fitting the shorter Z3 stick isn't much more work and will be a nice improvement as well.

I hope you didn't fit the prop back before you do the shift changeover
It's easier with the prop off, although it can be done with it in situ too.

There are two Wiki pages that cover this. One is the Z3 Short Shift page (already linked) which is a worthy upgrade, but there's also this guide on the bushes themselves:

Part 14 is part 25117501309, and is in the region of 25-30 quid.

I wonder can you drill out the bit that wears and get a tube pressed into it and if that would be cheaper.
