Ok so my plans have been slightly scuppered....

I bought "rust free" panels off Andyp last year with the hope of blasting them back to bare metal and sending them in to be painted at the same time I would get my rear arches sorted and the rest of the car done.

So I finally got the wings blasted and took all the panels round to the gent who is going to do the paint job.

Turns out the drivers side wing and bonnet are no good....aaaargghh!

Anyway we had a chat and came to a deal, £2500.00 to do whats necessary, strip down, arches, prime, paint put back etc.

I think I am onto a winner.....? Oh, and he is an ex BMW Painter.

Is that for a full respray plus all panel work etc? Seems a fair price if he is doing everything.

The price sounds fair.

If panels are being stripped down to bare metal I would suggest they are primed with zinc primer for protection agasints the worm and while he has the panels of I'd give him a few cans of cavity wax/dynax to sprey on. Try and get some pics of the job up here.

Price for a saloon?

You may be able to save a few quid by stripping the trim yourself...I paid a bit under £1400 for a cabbie respray three or four years ago.

It is a cabby, full respray, panel work, tech 1 front and rear, screen out etc.

Good idea about the cavity wax...any thoughts on this stuff;

That's really good. I was quoted that just for a full prep and respray most places that I looked
