Also there are some custom fabric links in this thread on e28 forum and some pics of one of these fabrics against BMW fabric, a group buy on something like this could be a good shout, sent them a detailed pic and order up a load maybe

Right here we are at 5am at work searching for cloth and I've found this , 30 bucks a yard but they have loads of colors check it out
