thinkin of getting some 16x8 et20 wheels. what is offset of standard bbs? thinking ofgoing 215/40/16 on the front and 225/45/16 on the rear as this gives me the closest rolling diameter to what is on there at the moment. will I have any clearence issues with these sizes? car is tourer on a 30mm drop?

Shouldn't have too many issues with that drop, although I'd keep the same size all round if not going for a staggered fitment, either 215's or 205's for a mild amount of stretch

Dont want stretched tyres. Only reason i am thinking of going narrower and smaller profile on front is for clearance. I had 205 55 15 on the front and they caught inner arch on full lock.? I know a lot of people run 9jsdown on the rear but they are always on stretched tyres wasn't 100%there the 225 on an 8 rim would clear rear arch ok

225 is just a bit wide really for 8j IMO, a 215 would do the job, shouldn't stretch, but will give you more chance of clearance all round.

I think you'd need a 215/45/16 to match the same rolling diamter as a 225/45/16. For reference this is a 205/50 and 225/40 on a 9J wheel
