318is manifold removal?

manifold is free from engine & downpipe, earth strrap, top rad pipe removed but seems too tight against steering, inner wing & engine & although close just not passing have tried jack/unjacked am i missing a trick other than disconnecting steering & dropping engine crossmember 1 side???
