Hi guys,
just wondering what is the purpose of this part (51711976719)
RealOEM names it as an "air duct". Where is it 'ducting' air? Others claim it is a transmission guard, but I fail to see any truth in that given it's thin aluminium

That is a transmission guard, whether it also acts as an air duct, I wouldn,t know.
If it does it will be about the only aerodynamic thing on an E30.
