Hi as above, my car is idling a little bit erratic, between 700-1100 rpm, also smells rich of fuel and smokes a bit more than I think it should, also its a m20 2.5 and supposed to be 170hp, it feels more like 130hp at the moment. Somethings just not 100% with it.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Matt read through this as its pretty much the exact same symptoms, most likely air leaks. But can be down to the TPS, Blue Temp Sensor, AFM, ICV etc etc.

How many miles has it done? I would carry out a compression test, and go from there...

thanks guys its done 85,000 miles apparently, but I dont know if thats right. Could headgasket, or cracked head cause this, as a while back it lost its water and overheated, but hasnt since.

A failing headgasket could cause the oil smoke, if its allowing oil to leak into the cylinders, as would worn valve guides.
A cracked head would cause the oil to mix with the water.
