Front brake pads

I recall ds9000's being rated well a few years ago -

Greens aren't a racing pad hence why they were crap. I've found yellows good but others don't like them. PFB01's are supposed to be good but pricey if running standard calipers.
Do a search this has come up may times in the past.

I found ferodo ds2500's to be very very good, I've given yellowstuff a try now and as yet I'm not too happy with them (although I will post back up on my thread regarding these pads once I've overhauled my entire braking system).
For heavy track work I've read that ds3000 is recommended but the dust is supposed to be very harsh on wheels/paint, with high wear rate if used below their operating temp.
I'm curious about your front brake set up, are you still using 15" bbs? if so what disc and spacer combo are you using and how much further out is the caliper?

I really disliked yellowstuffs. Turned them to charcoal very quickly.
However apparently EBC have changed what their pads are made from and they are meant to be a lot better now a days.
I have DS3000's and love them, but yes, dust is a big issue

It depends when you tried them. Apparently they weren't too good before they reformulated the compound, and I only tried the improved pads so I can't comment on the earlier product.ross_jsy wrote:I really disliked yellowstuffs. Turned them to charcoal very quickly.

I've got yellowstuff front and back on mine (WMS 280mm front and standard rear) and very happy with them so far, but I haven't tried any other pad to compare them to.
Never tried these but unlike the EBC stuff I've never heard any negative comments about the PF pads.....which is a good sign.DanThe wrote:I have the performance friction 01 on the WMS calipers, what are you using on the rear rix?rix313 wrote:Greens aren't a racing pad hence why they were crap. Are you sure about RS29's killing disks? They are the softest pad Pigid racing produce, being their 24hr race endurance pad.
Mintex 1166 take some beating and a brand new set is available cheap here:
