i first noticed smoke coming from my engine when i was stuck in a traffic jam, i open the bonnet and it disapears,

It smoked a little yday

And today i noticed it when i was parked outside my house, kept the car running and popped the bonnet open. And it disapeared. I looked carefully abd its coming from the left side (nearside) of the radiator,

The car temperature is all ok, oil is fine, hoses are all nice and secure. The engine had a rebuild 6weeks ago. The car runs and performs well. Just that smoke/steam has got me a little worried.

Anyone experianced this or has any idea on what it could be?

Or do i need a new radiator?

Any help would be much appriciated

Check the hoses for deterioration first.

Any signs of an oil leak? It could be burning oil on the block as it heats up.

found out the problem. The fan thermostand (vicous fan coupling) was faulty. So it was not cooling as it should be. Changed that and it should resolve that.

Was the car overheating as well when in slow traffic or stationary, thats usually a tell tale sign of the viscous on the way out.
