due to having 2 number plates cracked due to numpty drivers using my bumper as when to stop reversing when parking, iv moved the plate to under the bumper, is their a panel that covers the holes left behind or do i just fill them in and smooth it out.

US spec. E30s use the same bumper as the rest of the world, but different rubber strips, with a separate bumper mounting plate. I've no idea exactly what they look like, or if they suit your needs, but possibly worth looking into.
Seems strange to me as well that you've had damaged number plates. One of the plus points of E30 bumpers is that they can be used to 'enlarge' parking spaces, if you find yourself blocked in by some inconsiderate idiot, and I've used this facility a few times over the years without ever damaging the plate.

I consider that good going. Replacing my number plate is almost a monthly occurrence, usually damaged by tossers with tow-bars who will probably never tow anything in their lifemacas wrote:You must be bloody unlucky to have had two number plates cracked!
