Anyone running poly/delrin bushes in their gear shifter linkages instead of the rubber bmw ones?

To replace part #2 and a round bush to go into #4

I've found some on ebay in the US, anyone know somewhere nearer to get them from?

Only cause I still have the tabs open :P

They do both of them. I'm just looking online I can get a 1m long of Delrin rod for around 30e and I'm sure I could make up quite a few bushes with that.

17 dollar's for something that can be made for a fraction of that does seem a bit naughty!
It's bush 2 in your parts link that is the main culprit,it seems to wear out far to quickly and is difficult to access with the engine/gearbox in the car.So a 'poly' type alternative can only be a good  for the long term owner.

The other 'wearing' parts seem to be the link arm(11) and the knuckle joint(14)although the latter does come as a complete part to install.

I seem to remember seeing an alternate to 11 on a USA based site, the claim was reduced wear, but the cost was out of all preportion when compared to the BMW item.

That's the fella!

But 350 dollars?

I can replace with BMW bits at least 5 times for that figure, that's every three years or so,so I would need to keep the thing for at least 15 years to see a saving...if their part lasts that long.

The improved bushes,at sensible money,will interest me,though.
