Think it looks classier and cleaner, chrome in the engine bay should just be avoided

heres the rpm one in my is, they are a powder coat finish, the black suited the car/suited the bay a lot better than if it were chrome, and did not stick right out or draw your eyes to it
but they only do black, and it wouldnt suit the bay in black on a silver car as well

i see what you guys mean about the black look, but i do like chrome on a car, gives it that "classic" look.

im not really feeling the black rocker/inlet at all, wont look right on the car, want something that fits and looks right and suits the overall style and easy on the eye
like look at the pic above, a black car facelift, all the fan and engine bits black, black spark plug cover and oil cap, the deadening etc, the black brace just fitted it nicely and all looked easy on the eye, picture a chrome brace- would of stood out too much and not complimented
but thats not to say chrome wont on the lachs car, but need to think of the best rocket/inlet/brace combination to give the best and "right" look

thats not far from me, but its probably in a facelift with black trim everywhere, it looks alright in that bay, not sure how black would look here...Chris_B86 wrote: It would if you had these...

Black rocker and inlet with a red strut brace? makes things a bit racier and more exciting? or body colour inlet and rocker with red strut?

If you gave the bay a good clean so the silver was bright and shiny, the black would contrast well against it

I would go for a silver rocker and inlet as your theme is OEM but whatever you do go for powdercoated because painted just doesn't stand the test of time really.
You need to keep it subtle as possible I think otherwise it starts to look 'modified' too much.
Like if you are having period radio, you don't but supermarket universal floor mats in etc

How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

Nope, m50 then m52. I'm just being lazy and not editing the picture of the engine bay i got the other week (surprisingly I don't really have a pic of the bay since the M52 went in!)

davidt LOL
, pm sent
back a home now was on phone, and seeing that bay on the big screen it looks super !
what im also doing is keeping the original rocker and inlet that are on the car as they are, and just get them cleaned up but keep the patina ,so nothing to loose by doing some spares, im yearning for the days when car is on the road and im spending time doing them little thngs and tinkering with the bay and cleaning things up etc

Yeah that's mine. It was all taken off and painted lach silver in the spray shop. Just standard pint was used and its held up fine, been like it for ages. The only thing is if you want a smooth finish it takes a lot of effort sanding it all down.polsta wrote:Looks super , is that yours ?? If so, what's the details ?
