Hi I currently have a m20 2.5 turbo running oN mega squirt t3/4 turbo just updated fuel pump and a few other part after having fuel delivery problems on the rolling road . I take it back in a few weeks but he reckons it will only run 270bhp which I was a little disappointed with . I'm no expert on cars/ engines but after reading other forums it looked like 300bhp was easily achievable ??

Second quiry is that I'm not sure what was done to strengthen this engine when I brought it so next year was thinking about rebuilding the engine or upgrading ... Either a 2.7 alpina engine ? Finding it hard to source one , any idea where I could get one or e36 325i but would I be able to use my turbo assembly on a e36 I know manifolds etc are different . Is there a big difference between the engines that is worth me doing a swap ? Any help would be great .

You won´t need to do anything to your engine, just keep boosting
With great challenges comes great engineering.

well he's wrong on both accounts they can handle it
if you don't know the history of the engine you need to make sure it's got updates head bolts or arps and the injectors to cope other than that there's no reason why it wouldn't make well over 300 bhp

Well my problem at the moment is its running lean I checked today that the fuel pump has been up rated and on the fuel pressure regulator it's saying 2.8 bar is that enough pressure ? The injector have ment to be updated how could I check to find if there the right one or right size ? The bloke at the dyno place said to uprate the fuel pump so I've just brought a walbro 255 high pressure pump but don't want to fit it if there's something I'm missing ... Help mee

Stock injectors are at 3.5 bar iirc.
Your injectors should have some part numbers near the plugs, may be hard to read but only way to be sure.

2.8 isn't too bad the stock fuel pressure regulated runs at 3 bar, what color are your injectors ? might give some other indication
you can always still fit the pump it won't hurt :)
