Hi Im after some advice as to what my e30 is worth as it will affect what I do with it sell it or keep it and slowly build it into a 325i.

It's a 316i 2 door lux, I've added se side skirts, is front lip, cream and black Recaro interior inc door cards and parcel shelf, 35mm drop inc shocks, 325i front brakes, 325i arb's with all new bushes, 15"bbs's with 2 new front kuhmo's 1/2 stainless (not loud) its done 171k, runs a bit rough when cold but starts first time every time, hasn't let me down since 137k from when I owned it, and my sis in law had it a good 2 years before that.

Any idea as to what I might get for her with 12 months mot and about 5 months tax?

I had a figure of £1500 Ono ??? Or am I miles out?

Thanks Jonesy

it depends on what you want to do with it in the long run - it will always be a modified 316i which will be more expensive on the insurance then to just get a straight 325i, but on the other hand only you know what condition the bodywork is in.

try it on pistonheads and gumtree [free advertising] for £1500 it all depends on rust issues though .If it's a good shell you'll get your money or there abouts .

Give me 10 min I'll try and find some pics. The body work is ok, few marks here and there, when's she's clean she looks stunning from about 5 ft, on closer inspection, she shows her age a little bit.

Thing is I already have an e46 330d rack to fit and rear disc conversion.

I'm self employed and after a really crap year last year I'm dong well enough to start thinking about getting an e46 M3, a car I've wanted since I first saw one. But on the other hand I really want to get a trailer mounted cherry picker for my businesses, as this would be quite helpful, I'm stuck as for what to do.

The sensible thing to do would be sell the e30 and just drive my disco tdi I use for work, but I want an personal car as well.

Still got to mot her and get some more money together.

Disco tdi - hmm - how about keeping the e30 as a daily, and using the disco for green laning, and getting the cherry picker -

Personally, I would get whatever puts bread on your table first, as that will help you get the m3 later on

Work your way through this, and let us know what price it suggests:

http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/inde ... s_it_worth

Bear in mind that the sort of stuff you've mentioned (leathers, stainless exhaust, lip and lowering) is counterbalanced by the stuff you haven't said (timing belt change? oil change? service stamps? new bushes?)

What quality conversion is it? Did you replace the front struts? Prop? Diff? Are the rear discs you mentioned already fitted? Have you declared the engine swap, or are you running around on illegal insurance?

All of these things will affect the price considerably, and determine if the price is 1500 (the price of a genuine 325i) or half that.
