Hi guys, i'm building up the M30 conversion for my cab. Its going to be a cruiser rather than a racer but its got a shrick cam, lightened flywheel, chipped ECU, skimmed head and a few other mods so should be reasonably nice to drive.
I've been offered a 2.79 diff and was wondering what this would be like to drive in the car and what sort of RPM i would be doing at 70mph. I'm after a torquey cruiser tbh.
The other gear train bits are a M30 535 sport G/B and 15 inch BBS wheels.
Any advice most appreciated
thanks

I have a 3.46 in the cab Jim, cruises along nicely, even in 5th at 30mph, no juddering at all.
Motorway wise, it'll sit at about 3200rpm at 100mph

You sure your diff is a 3.46 Rav? at 3200rpm you should be doing around 81mph.
Sounds like you got a 2.91 which would give 96mph @ 3200rpm,
id check the tab on your diff moosh.
Jim, get in touch with Martin, im sure he was running a low diff on his cab.

With a 2.91 it will hit 190mph flat out.
Ive got a 3.38 crown and pinion stashed away ready for when mine gets rebuilt.
