im going to start getting bits together for my turbo project and am unsure which engine to get,im loooking for 450hp and to what i can work out i will be going m50b25 hx35 turbo, vems management,im going to start building the engine now ready to swap next winter [so i can get to some meets this summer in the sport with standard engine] so does it matter if i get a vanos engine out of an e36 or am i better with the rarer non vanos engine?

it won´t matter, both will make it to 450hp easily enough.

Both engines will make 450hp if you give the old M20 enough boost that is.

should be about 1.6-1.7bar boost on a HX35.

There are no M20 PnP VEMS ecu´s, but I can get you a regular vems ecu,.

this was my next question ,so with the vanos is it just the same to map etc ,im planning on just buying the full e36 car and taking the engine out so if its easier to map etc a none vanos i will just get a early one probably cheaper ,also on a side note how come people dont seem to turbo the e36`s is it a matter of space
