use back to black stuff usually works with a few coats, after about 2 3 applications and buffing should return back to black,
if you search on here somebody has restored their head lamp grills and there are pics on that thread.
expensive stuff was used.
p.s it would have only 'had it' if it was broken damaged or badly warped which its not. just needs some life back into it.
