Well... in the past 6 months the n/s rear arch has rusted at an alarming rate and needs replacing

I know you can buy a rear quarter panel is it possible to get just the arch? If I am lucky, my dad will do it for me (he works in a bodyshop) but I need rough Idea of the cost involved.

I think its parts+paint+Ԛ£20+a box of chocs = ?

I bought two new panels from a local company who specialise in paint and panels. They were about Ԛ£20 odd quid each plus vat and are just the arch panels. If there are no local companies in your area give me a shout and I'll order them and post them out to you. :thumb:

ok, thanks for that, will let you know if I need one. I am in to minds as to whether I should sell her as she is and buy a tidier e30, or spend time and money doing her up.

hi there, the way taylor has suggested is the best idea-a lot cheaper than getting a whole new quarter panel!

give it a bash and it should be fairly reasonable.

ps i'll move this to tech help :D

You can't tell until he starts to remove the old arch. It depends how far the rust has set in behind the paint. Yours looks pretty far gone expecially in the area that leads down to the sills. It's not uncommon for it to travel along the sills.

Parts aren't generally very expensive in bodywork, it's the preparation and labour involved so if the labour won't cost you anything then I don't think you've got much to worry about regarding paint and parts.

he's a she, and not a he-she... winkeye

I wont get labour totally free, but will get a huge discount, been offered Ԛ£550 as she stands but dont know if spending Ԛ£100-150 on tidying her up will add that much to the value.
