i want to change my brakes. my e30 is a 318i model with a 2.5 lump in it. im not sure if it still has the 1.8 brakes. all i know is there not very good and that i would like a better upgrade.
what is a popular cheap upgrade to go for??

upgrade your front struts complete with calipers to the 51mm 325i ones to start with - better brakes and better suspension.

Depends what model your 318i is. Quasers comments are only applicable if it is a saloon, since cabs and tourings already have the larger struts and vented front brakes.
