Been asked by a friend to check out a couple of E46 M3s for him. Anyone got any serious advice or links to decent buyers guides?

These are the ones in question -

This is the other

I know the running in service and service history is pretty important, and a know few of the common bad points on e46's, boot floor, inner wings, rear sills and wing's, but what else can be issues on these?

The DSG box is a pig when you are driving around without your hair on fire in auto mode.

I heard recently about one where the rear end chassis suffered a major crack after a period of intense driving, diff survived, chassis lost out.

Both of them I would not bother.

First one: SMG, CSL reps, Fullrun tyres, cone filter. But its a good colour combination with a nice spec.

Second one: Nankang tyres.

Cheers for the advice so far chap's, the place isn't the cheapest and right next door to a buget tyre place so shite rubber is to be expected. I have not organised to look at them yet so may just search out a few better one's myself rather then just go look at ones he likes the pictures of in the advert's.

I'm currently looking for one too, I would say both very expensive, though the estoril one will hold money better than silver been rare, I would expect that age spec milage to be sub 8k
