Is this possible? Have looked through the Wiki but can't find anything other than replacing the screen in situe.

Guy who's swapping my screen over wants the roofskin detached from the frame.

This is the best way to have the rear screen replaced.Unfortunately the labour cost is the same as it would be to replace the entire hood fabric,so it may be an  to take a deep breath,or bite the bullet  and have the whole lot done in one go.

I have patched up the failed stitching on my cabbie's rear window, but two or three years later it really needs doing again, the window is scratched and a bit milky, but the hood fabric is still reasonably good,so it will go another summer, hopefully with the hood stowed most of the time! :D

Speak to the guys at car hood warehouse in Chessington for advice, BTW how much are you ppaying for the screen to be sown in?
I've been quoted £120 for the rear screen replacement once the hood is off the frame.

Hmm. Tempted to give it a go myself now TBH.

personally, i would not even bother attempting this. My cabby s roof was abit tired and milky so i have a new hood fitted by a professional, cost about £600 from memory and it looks ace.

I've got a spare roof which is like new, just needs a new screen.

Thanks for the YT link- that looks like a ballache!

Think i might have to work on my sewing skills and follow the wiki!

Cheers guys.
