So I've followed advice and left the E34, and now I'm looking at this if it's stays cheap enough...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330884069932? ... 1423.l2649
It's got it's niggles, but I think a techno violet tourer is pretty cool for a temporary dad wagon

Looks a bit council but the E36 323i is a nice car for not a lot of money.
Having said that I have had a coupe version and sold it because I was getting 320-350 miles to an £85-£90 tank.... I can get 600 miles from my shitren Xantia HDi for the same spend. It's a no brainer sadly.
We were filling the E36 fortnightly and the Citroen is monthly so I literally save £90 a month on fuel alone.

How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

Fuel isn't a huge issue, I'm currently getting 200 miles or so to a £60-65 fill.
Magpie I want an auto to be honest, I spend all my time in stop start traffic, so it's just a lot less effort

Nice spec car BUT the gearbox will die on you and cost a monkey to sort, at best

Yeah think I'll get the old man to do a repair on that.kangman wrote:Liking that colour alot, but the pillar doesn't look healthy.

I won't be modding it, much. I want 17" M3 wheels and possibly an M50 inlet if I get it, and that will be about it, all pennies will be put into the E30, and saving up for my friend's A4 Avant

If I win the auction I'll give you a shout. Are the the 5 spoke Evo type, or the sunflowers?diable wrote:I have some reps at home going cheap if you are interested.Chris_B86 wrote:

Pete, I do have my doubts about the gearbox, but if the car comes cheap enough it's a risk I'm half willing to take

The 323 will deeply disappoint especially in Auto form. It has half leather, issues and a reserve to chase.
The only thing it has going for it is the colour.
I'd be withdrawing the bid and looking at 328's instead..

I have no desire for it to 'excite' me, I'm lucky if I crack 40mph on my daily commute, and when I'm not commuting, my passengers are a pregnant woman and a 6 year old. I just want a touch of comforts and some lazy driving.B7 wrote:The 323 will deeply disappoint especially in Auto form. It has half leather, issues and a reserve to chase.

As for the reserve, if it's too high, I won't be buying it.
I will have my E30 sorted soon for when I want to play.

I can't get an e46 yet as my insurance is a classic policy and they're too new. Surprised they'll cover this to be honest

My T plate 328 Touring has plenty of rust on it - i'd be viewing that in person. Also would wait out for a 328 Touring and just buy M sport bumpers. The 328 engine gets the same economy, but is noticeably more punchy.

There's a 328 on at the minute with the M-Tec pack and full leather but in black for £1200, someone also PM'd me last night with the same thing, might even be the same car. Think I'm just drawn to this one because it's Techno Violet

+1.Also would wait out for a 328 Touring
A "nice" one is a lovely lovely thing. Im very impressed on how good it is to use as a daily. Im also impressed on how little its cost me to keep on the road, above the usual serviceing costs.

Like an M52B28?
Fair price. Get a 328 exhaust and M50 manifold on it at least - unleash a bit of sound
