Looking good, you will enjoy driving her.veeza wrote: i need to get front spoiler to but no luck yet
Spoiler/lip can still be got new from the dealers
love a red IS id like one myself ! an IS was my 1st e30 and loved it, enjoy !! and welcome to the zone
a z3 1.9 quick shift is a great mod to do on them
, also a top tip- get some spray carb cleaner from halfords or whatever, and clean out the inlet and icv and throttle housing area and make sure the cable is perfect ajusted and its all free moving , as the is is a revvy engine it loves that if it hasnt been done in a long time, and its simple and quick to do

Second that, also worth replacing the old vac hoses and getting rid of the throttle body heater plate while you're in there.polsta wrote:love a red IS id like one myself ! an IS was my 1st e30 and loved it, enjoy !! and welcome to the zone

thank you for all the posts
i want to keep the car standard as posible but was thinking is it worth getting a light weight flywheel? it has few marks and small dents around the car but seams to be rust free and has good service history and the last owner spent £1500 including new rear back box and timming chain, lots of hoses, and new speedometer, and service. all less than 2k ago at Cotswold Bmw but the car has been sat for 2 years.

its not worth the aggro of taking out the gear box etc for the sake of it, wait until it needs a new clutch, concentrate on getting the car tip top 1st
1st thing id be doing, get the carpets up, check all the floor pans, front corners, rear footwell bungs, all the inner arch walls and things, to really check for rust, there will be some somewhere if you really want to find it, get the mud flaps off and clean it all, theres probably some issues under them , things like that, if its been sat for 2 years... do a full fluid flush and change, totaly drain all the coolant, pas, brake fluid, oil, diff, gear box oil, change plugs, do the cleaning in my post above, and generaly get the car all checked over and fully serviced , so you know and can document when it was all done..then youl know, and then can schedule servicing from then, as who knows how old and dirty the coolant and brake and pas fluid are , if you do all that stuff youl notice and improvment and better feeling/response in the car

Looks like a clean car, red comes up very nice when polished!
When i got the car even though it had been started every few weks and moved back and fourth on there drive the paint work was very flat, last year i took few days to clean her up wax on wax off was a work out and a half
cant believe the diffrence. i dont have lots of time and she has flatterd off a bit there are one or 2 paint work issuse were the last owned sprayed over some scratches with a spray can it looks like. am tempted to get a new door and bonnet and boot off another red bmw with origanl paint work if i can find one. the rear spoiler the laquer is all craked and faded.

I'm mildly dyslexic myself, if found that installing a spell check helped me with spelling errors etc. Overall your typing was fine to me.
