How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.

were you not after a touring mate this looks nice, interior is quite funky not seen blue piping before, OEM?!

well mate if you give the advise to others then you need to follow it yourself, there isnt really a shortage of e34s maybe wait a while for one with more ticket comes up.
That was listed a couple of weeks ago by another seller with no MOT and went for £250, then this guy listed it a week later with MOT with buy now of £1100, but ended at £580 reserve met, concerned as to why it's back on, either it was another ebay messer, or there's something wrong with it

ah ok, i dont normally look for touring's so not seen it before, must admit the random interior spec perked my interest :)

may be worth asking the seller of the e34 to put it through and MOT and if it passes go from there. it doesnt look a bad car, but check the jacking points they can rot out rather spectacularly

Also in the picture of the MOT, he's covered up the advisory list with the tip-exed out log book.

I've just sent him a message seeing if he will MOT it, just have to see what his excuse is if he won't

Yeah the one we've looked at has the frame, then you can use either a carry cot, or a clip in car seat, so really only going to need to put the frame and wheels in the boot, until it's big enough for a proper car seat, then the whole bloody thing will have to go in.

I like the look of a calypso e34 525tds touring, but it's in Essex, major mission

So he's used the excuse that he's going away for 3 months, so if he MOT's it and I don't buy it he's wasted 3 months of MOT.

I've said surely it's worth £40 to have a pretty much nailed on sale, I've even offered to contribute to the base price of the MOT, just to give me peace of mind before jumping on a train from Manchester to London, as apparently it runs out next Friday, which is when I would be going to view, but so far no reply to that. Clearly he's not so confident it will pass

This is all you need to take heed of.

This tells me it will be a sorry tale of woe, for you.

I know. If he's not willing to mot it even if I pay for it before agreeing a deal then there's obviously a story behind that car

Just had this reply from him...

"i hear what your saying , but MOT is really nothing to worry about, MOT testers look for the saftey issues ,which are mainly suspension components, brakes , bodywork, lights, emmsions, handbarke.tyres, all these parts have been replaced,

A BMW enthusiast like myself always looks out for issues and cannot sleep knowing the car is sorted,BMW's rarely fail unless the bmw is a cheap 318 or the owner is 17year old.

If you want to pay for the MOT by bank transfer prior to coming, £50 in London , thats ok then il get the MOT before friday,or secound option is if you come early on friday to view, and want the car then , you can go somewhere to get lunch and il go to my local garage and the MOT within 2hrs.

or third is option is you can wait for 3months ,and when i return from abroad you can view the car then, thats if i dont decide to keep it for a few more years cheers"

Well I sold my 34 525 touring for 500 or 600 with a long mot and tax well over a year ago. It was a lovley motor in its own rights but if anything goes wrong its not worth repairing. I Then paid less for a 330 touring with full sport pack + + + for less than the e34 your looking at. Get hunting there's plenty out there if you look.

These do high thirties mpg on a run, less around town, I had two E36 325tds' with the same engine as the E34.

Better off with LPG if you want cheap fuel.

There are loads of known expensive problems with the M51 dieseasel.

Can anyone suggest how to test if the boot lights are staying on with the boot shut?

More advantages to LPG than that. I can run any of my LPG powered cars in the workshop for as long as I like with the doors fully closed and be perfectly safe. Try that with a dieasal for more than five minutes.
Remember the use to which the diesel engine was put around seventy years ago in the land in which are cars were built.
