Engine 1:
M50B25 single vanos, quite an early engine as it has the red label ecu. I have never heard it run, but it was bought by an aquaintence who knows his onions for a conversion that never happened, and I trust that it is a very good engine.
Engine 2:
m52B28TU from a 51 plate 728i it runs fine but has "black death" oil syndrome, I did post up some pics of the nastyness within the head. It has 147000 miles up it.
M50B28 I'm thinking, I have the lighter crank from a non TU as well. I'm 99% this will all go together but, what managment? M50 with a B28 chip in the ECU, plus the M50 manifold looks favorite to me. Which injectors? Does M50 single vanos head work with B28 pistons and crank?
Just wondering if any one has done this, its wouldn't take alot of messing around before just buying a good M52B28 looks a better option would it
The advantage to it all is I have all this in stock. Theres a good few gaskets to buy too, but at least then you know you are good for the forseeable future.
Opinions. Dan?
