Ok, after many a wasted hour dragging myself through search results to not find a definative answer here is my question.
i can get toyo t1-r and t1-s in 205/55/15
i can't however get goodyear eagle f1's in this size
however i can get them in 195/55/15, the question is should i go for the smaller size (bearing in mind they are for the front two wheels) or should i go for the larger size and there for the toyo's
cheers
Chris

I would personally have the 195's on the 15" rims, but whats fitted on the rear ?

on the rear is a set of 205/55/15 eagle f1's with plenty of tread left
the fronts are the same but are borderline legally
i would like to replace them with goodyears again as they are a great tyre, but do i do this at the sacrifice of size, or do i just go for the correct size but a different tyre

f1's hands down job done. there is no better tyre, sacrifice anything for it.
at the end of the day chris, the tyre is THE most important part of a car
i would choose the f1 buddy!

I would fit the 205's then, keep them the same all round.
I would never mix brands on same axle, but would sacrafice different brands on front/rear axle for handling/safety.

Got to agree, they tyres that were on there are the best available, tried loads, but never found anything better.
Stick to the 205's as well!

thats the problem though, if i could get f1's in 205/55/15 then i would have them by now and wouldn't have even asked...but know where can get them and everywhere is saying that goodyear have stopped producing the tyre in this size....so...do i go for a different size and stick to f1's, or do i go for the correct size but go to toyo's?

Stick to the same size.
If goodyear have stopped making them, then thats it......

That case, go for the Toyo's. People seem to think they're pretty good.billgatese30 wrote:i know they are stu, but no where can get them, even the larger online places like blackcircles and camskill don't stock them
IMHO, you want to stick to 205's - after all, you want to keep the car original, don't you?
Cheers
Stuart.

I got F1's in 205/55/15 in late November/early December, you can only get this size in GSD2 not the currant GSD3.
I think i paid about 140-145 for a pair fitted, not sure if they will mail order them or not but heres their name and number.

The ones Chris has on the sport were neither GSD, they were the original eagle F1's, I haven't seen them sold for a while now, but when they were still available, they were Ԛ£55 each.Andy335Touring wrote:I got F1's in 205/55/15 in late November/early December, you can only get this size in GSD2 not the currant GSD3.
