Cut in the narrowest place with a 1mm cutting disc, twist into place, bolt them up, and run a bead of weld along the cut, avoiding where the handbrake shoe lies.

Think the stealer ones are over £50 each, someone may know better. I've got some ebay specials for £20 each. They say they are made in Germany by 'HANS PRIES/TOPRAN' so will see how long it is before my wheels fall off...

I got the bearings from GSF, £20 each. It's not a quick job, I took the trailing arms off, and then took them to a friends to have the hubs and bearings pressed in and out

Think CP4L do SKF bearings, which probably would of been OEM, for around £25 a side.

If correct magpie said one of the rear arms already had new bearings so id only need one side, still, thats going to be around 100 quid, i was expecting maybe 25 in total and a relatively easy swap. bollocks

New it may be, but you will not pull the hub without the inner race of the bearing splitting and coming with it

There is a pikey way to do it, you could cut the back plate and put it on with some jiggery pokery without pulling the hub and tack it back up

Fuck it, it can wait. My dads exact words were " just dont do too many handbrake turns and itl be fine "
Its a bit shaky and probably wouldnt handle a days drift abuse, but im not a drifter so itl be fine for now. Il sort it out nearer summer

Haha what a guy. I've never once used a handbrake to initiate a drift, clutch kick like a boss! haha

Only reason I've done it is the car is off the road so I've had time and I've replaced everything back there, bushes, bearings, brakes, cables, back plates etc
Couple of pics at the bottom of this thread...

I'm doing exactly the same and collecting all the parts ready for a full strip down at the back. You could just cut off the rust plates for now, will make your car lighter and faster

Brian posted up these little spring retention hats that you could use if the sping had pulled the screw through the backplate, makes no sense what I just said but Brian will know if he reads this

I know what you mean, it's basically a washer with a slit and groove to hold the locking pin in on the back

You've still got a handbrake, and that uses shoes
