I've no intention of selling my 325i cabrio yet but I was just wondering what the difference in value between a car with FSH and one with the service book missing would be.
The car is in fair condition, mot'd, free from major corrosion, mostly OEM, had a desirable interior and colour and has all old MOT's.
Im not looking for a valuation, just how much difference it would make. to be honest I'm interested whether the car is worth anywhere near what it owes me.

Personally, FSH is a nice to have but i,d be more inclined to buy by condition.
For instance, if I was to buy a 325i and the history stated the timing belt had been changed
within speculated time/miles, I would still change it.

Missing history is a major issue with a 40000 mile minter and not an issue with a 150k 12 owner councilled up turd (The buyers usually cannot read anyway

I think as long as you keep the reciepts and get any stamps in the book if you pay someone to do any work would give a potential buyer the piece of mind that you personally looked after it irrelevant on the history.
Also as long as you own it for a good period of time shows its not a shitter, unlike alot of the E30's that you see come up for sale every few months.

Andrew Dale gave me the wrong Service Book. The book says was sold by Stephen James but when I rang BMW they say was sold by L & C Tunbridge Wells. Plus very little history before him. Just Andrew Dale's receipts.pacerpete wrote:Missing history is a major issue with a 40000 mile minter and not an issue with a 150k 12 owner councilled up turd (The buyers usually cannot read anyway)

How long have you owned it/how good are your records? Even if earlier history is lost, a file with five years worth of diligent maintenance and upkeep records is going to be worth more in a buyer's mind than a receipt for a bucket of filler and three cans of hammerite dated three weeks previously. I'm guessing yours, like most, will be somewhere in between..pony wrote:And all the receipts from my expenditure

I agree here, think I'd rather have a car with the last 5 years well documented, than have something which is "full service history up to....." and then has nothing for the last few yearssnakebrain wrote:How long have you owned it/how good are your records? I was wondering this too, I have a sound 325i lach chromie cab that I bought for £250, it's sound no rot, never been welded but its a mobile skip. It's all there but every panel is marked the interior is in tatters. The roof isn't complete, but it runs perfectly! It will be fully stripped inside and be re painted and put back together properly, I intend to keep it and fully document it. But as all I have is the log book I did wonder if in time it would still be worth top money

Cars that are worth top money are the standard low owners low mileage FBMWSH original paint everywhere no rust BMW E30 3 Series.Acox99 wrote:I was wondering this too, I have a sound 325i lach chromie cab that I bought for £250, it's sound no rot, never been welded but its a mobile skip. But hardly anyone has one on the Zone like this.
I suppose really highly restored cars in exceptional condition would get close but would not be able to command the prices of the ones I outlined above ....

That looks stunning Kos. Are they both tax disc holders and rear window stickers genuine or replicas ?
Re the Park Lane gear is for the CS. The original owner bought from BMW Park Lane for under tax free sales as he was in the British Military serving in Germany. When I rang up BMW they said the supplying dealer is BMW International and Specialist Sales which is owned by BMW UK/BMW Park Lane. They have a showroom in Westminster and moved there after 2006 I believe. Before that showroom was called BMW Westminster I believe. I have a copy of the original invoice which says BMW Park Lane and I believe tax free sales were done in that Park Lane show room in 2006. At the moment has BMW Cotswold rear window sticker/tax disc holder/plates as was later sold as a BMW Approved Used Car there.
At the moment not sure whether to get modern Park Lane plates or period style of 2006 .... Saying BMW Park Lane with BMW Logo

I know it sounds gay but I noticed some of the Park Lane plates they haven't put it dead centre .... See here the Park Lane lettering is too close to the border .... Btw I was blessed enough to get a go in this M5 ....

U see the lettering too close to the border. On another Park Lane car I seen with those plates parked on a street is spaced nicely.
Just for u lot to perv on .... I took this the other day
Here is a 8 Series in Knightsbridge

U all gonna think I got OCD now lol
