So today i have had a real pain in the arse trying to get a pair of tyres for the back of my m30'd touring, i have ruined my first set in a couple of months, and being that visiting the tyre bays will be a regular occurance i would like a tyre size that is common and cheap! Because i couldnt get any tyres the beemer is now sat on my drive unusable until i source some! Grrr
The size in question is 205/45/16, i have them fitted to my borbet c's.
Now my question is, is there a much more common size that fit 16's and will still be useable on a lowered e30. Or failing that, what is the most common size tyre for any wheel diameter so that i do not have this pain in the arse everytime i come to buy more tyres! I would happily buy a cheapo set of 14s/15's if it meant more tyre choice!

195/50/15's are now the common ones, but the OP needs 16'scapnmchl wrote:I swear 195/60/15 used to be the most common tyre size ever but I expect most of those cars died in the scrap page scheme
To be honest in part worn's, 205/50/16's aren't in abundance but they are are out there, it's 205/55's they've got loads of, I learnt this when needing tyres regularly on my Skyline

I had a look at this for winter rimz,
195/65/15 are half the price of every other size but they are a bit large for the e30. (5% over stock)
Be ok for winter but not the greatest looking..

Down the left side you have rim size, click on the 'Show All' then look for the one with the highest number beside, this is the most popular size
195/65/15 for 15
205/55/16 for 16
225/45/17 for 17
