hay...
this is on a m52 328i, standard ..
can any one help me on what connects to the vac pump under the inlet manifold, i know one end goes to the rocker cover and big pump end goes into the inlet but there is a small one at the bottom of the black triangular pump thing that i cant work out,,

, do i even need any of this? as when upgrading to a m50 inlet it looks like you get rid of this pump thing???

iv seen that on the m50 inlet convertion but my boot only has 1 hole,, it goes from the cover to a pump thing under the inlet, that goes into the inlet but theres a conection for a small pipe oon the bottom of the pump thing,, it needs to go somewhere as the oil shit is dripping out else

This might be the oil recirculation valve? You can remove it. Most people fit the M50 manifold (without the valve) to their M52 engines, meaning as BATTS says you can just take the breather straight into the inlet, as per M50 engines.

I assume you're keeping the M52 manifold for now?

Mentions the thing here:

As above, that pipe is the oil drainer and should be plumbed back into the sump, you can either weld a stub onto the lower part of the dipstick (what I do) or drill and tap the sump for a threaded stub

You can just about see the welded stub with pipe connected here-

ideal,, i forgot the old dipstick had an extra pipe on it.. iv got a m50 inlet but no throttle or icv valve thing,ect.. im also missing her lol,, ill do it when its warmer..,,

so if i go from the rocker to the inlet sock i take it you dont need to add the drain pipe to the dip stick, or do i .. Y joint it off the rocker so oil drains down to sump,,..

thanks guys.

You dont no but you will be left with a hole on the underside of the manifold.
Just fit the M52 throttle to the M50 manifold, all you need is another sealing ring, one in the throttle body and one in the manifold. Easier than welding extra stubs and the job will be done

think i know what you mean,, gasket on both sides so need to make a plate to go between... but when people swap using m50 throttle they use m50 icv valve ect,, if im sticking to the m52 throttle can i use all my same bits just modded to fit??

No you can use all the M52 bits, the only other M50 specific part you will need apart from the manifold is the throttle intake boot with two holes in, one for the breather one for the ICV

Does that stub connect to the front of the rocker cover? I'm lost as to what the OP means, prob because I didn't do it so want to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Also, can you do away with the breather that goes into the TB elbow?

No that pipe is the oil drainer from the oil separator which comes fitted to an M52 manifold
