Anyone ever dyed the sides of head rests ? im wondering if its possible to do so it looks original from light grey to black, is it vinyl or leather ?

these IS grey, changing them to black like the darker check ones, either a vinyl dye or paint of some sort like a leather paint

looks great that, just looking on ebay, there are a few vinyl "dyes" and "colorant" but im thinking a thin liquid would be too tricky as it would run, its doing the piping and the piping side near the cloth on the inner edge , then i using a spray, would it be easy to mask and spray it in a way it does the piping properly

or im thinking a thicker paint ?

or there are these touch up pen things , ie for the piping

theres this paint

or angelus leather paint

hmmm interesting, reckon thats do-able ? sounds like a ball ache and to get it back together looking like how it was ?

another option jim has said - to dye the whole seats black- pure black cloth sports seats, no ones ever done/got ?

It is a ballache , as the headrests have piping, and that MUST be 100%

Why not just buy the correct IS style seats with the black vinyl sides ? The cloth is darker and nicer as an added bonus :)

gave them a good shampoo scrub and hose today, they have came up excellent and look very nice, not that much difference in these and the darker really cloth wise, but reason i go them as they are pretty much perfect bar a small drivers bolster hole , and structuraly sound and rear head rests and £80 local , a pair of paint splattered darker ones sold for that recently with no rear bench, they are getting harder to find nice ones these days

Silver grey is nasty, that is why it is cheap. This is what you want, they look better now that I have cleaned them :)

yeah pete £750 vs £80.....

the grey arnt nasty definatly not, they look decent to be fair and the check shade isnt that much different, and with the right door cards will look great in a car, more so if it has a grey carpet, il post pics tomorrow they look super after a clean up

is there also a lighter grey than these ? these are a darker normal sort of grey as opposed to a real light grey
