I see Eurocars parts have 25% off at the moment and thought it would be a good idea if I changed my front discs and pads. Looking at their web site there is a choice of Pagid or Eicher for the discs and the same 2 manufacturers plus Textar and ATE for the pads.
So my question is which ones would be best suited to my car, it's a Tech1 but only does around 3,000 miles a year.
Which brake pads and discs?

Pagid ! That's what I've gone for, get the price on euro, then try car parts 4 less, same company, and put in the discount they do, to see what's cheapest, only works out at 100 odd for new ones all round

For price and quality you can't beat Pagid. If the ATE pads are the same price, I might go for them though.
The Eicher stuff isn't too bad tbh, but its cheap for a reason.
A few years ago I would of said Brembo and Ferodo, but having seen how well the Pagid discs don't rust compared to Brembo and taking into account the price of Ferodo pads, Pagid wins.

The have them cheaper on CarParts4Less.co.uk matching paid discs and pads.
Not sure I it will work out cheaper after the 25% off though.

It's alright. TRW are an OEM manufacturer, and a lot of rear brake calipers with integrated handbrakes are made by them. I think they bought out Lucas or something.
Same as Textar and ATE really. They make the calipers, you'd think they'd have a good idea on how to make the pads and discs.

That's what I was going with - I knew they bought out Lucas so I went for them for my rear pads recently, and might do the fronts in the near future.

Anyone know if ECP still sell the ATE Powerdiscs?
Ive had a quick look but cant find them - I seem to remember they were not listed with the brake discs, but in another section. It was 5+ years ago I bought them and website has changed since then
I had the Powerdiscs on my Sport for a couple years and then used them with the S50 conversion for a short while and had no complaints.

It will, it just did for me, cp4l have offers too, effectively 15% off if you get near to £100, break up your order to maximise savings!!Rtaylor2208 wrote:The have them cheaper on CarParts4Less.co.uk matching paid discs and pads.

Ive got Pagid disks and pads on the front of my touring and Brembo disks and pagid pads on the back.
Pagid are OK but a little bit on the cheap side - I think ATE stuff is the proper OEM equivalent.

Last pads I bought were for an E34 and an E39, and both were genuine BMW.capri_rob wrote:

All were Pagid pads in a BMW box.
