As someone mentioned, they come up on eBay for stupid money from time to time.
However, try the dealers, as I got one from the dealers about 5 years ago for a pittance. Sadly, I left it in the car never having used it and not realising people would pay stupid money for them.

I thought the long range tank was an extra and it was part of the main tank ie; the bit of the tank that comes over to the P/s is bigger.

Their 60 ltr capasity i think?

Neil.

My tank on my 318i is a 62litre tank... (55 standard?) but I think 325's have 62 litre tanks?

Is that not enough?...

I used to have a nissan micra with only room for Ԛ£20 of petrol in the tank! made long distance travelling very difficult as not many petrol stations open past 8pm in rural Wales.

It would be handy in case you ran out of fuel I guess.. Ive got a plastic fuel can rattling around in my boot.

I dont think you are allowed to carry fuel in the boot anymore, for emergency use only I think, but every time I buy a car, there is no petrol in it, so a small fuel tank in the whel would be very handy.

(wow., I waffle, I promise I'm not p*ssed!)

I thought it was fitted behind the rear seats in the boot with a Y shaped filler neck so both tanks get topped up

Yes, it's in the boot flush up against the rear panel behind the seats, absolute pain to fill it is too!

Yep, I've got one. Think they were standard on Euro M3's. Takes over Ԛ£50 to fill it.

I have the long range tank fitted to my South African 325i which was imported to UK in 1991.

I'll go with the cost of filling it, as Simon says it's a bit of an arse to fill because it actually fills from the bottom, once the main tank is full you've got to go slow to fill it. Don't know how easy tank is to get hold of but Y-piece filler is still available-got one a couple months back.

The gauge on the dash is different as well but tank gives you 350 miles to a tank - I think that's pretty good for 325i auto saloon.

Talking of good extras, I think the sump guard is a pretty good one as well.
