Santa Pod & German Show...

Just wondering if anyone was going to be starting a thread for either of these? We're in March and havent seen any mention of either for this year yet in terms of a thread

Be good to get a thread up for both so names can start building, as well as have a bit more organisation and presents at Santa Pod this year Gazebos and flags like the previous year?

Also, is the record attempt still going ahead at The German Show?

Jim, just start a bloody thread yourself if you want something doing about meets! Like I said to you yesterday, there is no point having meets organisers, if someone wants a meet/show/drive organising then they can easily do it themselves! When there used to be regular meets all over country there never used to be a "Zone meets organiser" people just got on with it.

I think Ian has the only E30Zone branded signage hasn't he?

I'll start thread for my own things, but The German Show is zone organised, I would have thought something would have surfaced by now.

Last year Santa Pod, no one wanted anything to do with it, I took on the show passes and I think people expected me to some how do more than that. I wont be doing it this year so fook knows whats going on. The organisers also moaned due to the fact we didnt have as many number turn up as anticipated. I'm wondering if we even have a zone stand sorted for pod yet?

SantaPod has been steadily getting worse over the last few years, last years turnout proves it even more.

The so called Zone stand was crap, i say so called because you wouldnt know it was the Zone area because there was no signage or banners, marshals at all.

99% of the E30's were councilfest shit*ers of epic proportions, you could count the good cars on one hand and still have fingers spare

The only reason i went was for the camping and most of those who camped didnt even come in a E30.......

Unless somebody takes it by the balls and pushes it forward then it aint gonna happen this year, the obvious absence of any Mods/event organisers should tell you something, in fact most so-called event organisers couldnt even organise getting out of bed in the morning let alone any kind of meet.

The whole show is a shocking councilfest and should be treated as such.

last year was a shower of shoite compared to the two previous years i've been to santa pod.

lack of the zone stand meant there wasn't a central 'hub' as such to gather around and chat,some zone merchandise like t-shirts and mugs etc wouldn't go a miss

I couldnt believe how many deluded types turned up, thinking their £300 shi8er deserved to be included for display at a show.

At most shows you expect lots of bufty action, polishing and so forth, not following around turds with a dustpan and brush sweeping bits of the car up, or safety barriers to protect joe public from cutting himself on the rusty panels..............

Glad I've not bothered with it since the very first one, chances are I won't this year after reading how crap it was. Same goes for Gaydon, not been for a few years and definately won't be going this year either as it clashes with a far more interesting show.

I understand Jims comments though regarding the German show since that is organised by some members of the Zone team.

Gaydon is an excellent show with lots of nice cars and enough vermin and molested scrap to keep things
entertaining !

I liken Santa Pod to a large doner kebab, very council , lots of dubious content but very enjoyable Santa Pod is all about the camping. If you rock up on a Sunday solely to see nice cars, you will probably go home disappointed.
