hay, got the engine in today, all bolted up to gear box and prop with the box and prop in there original position as they were with the 1.8 lump engine mount lined up,, but a big ??? iv seen pics of a lot of m52 convertions but am not always sure what set up there using,, one thing they all seem to have in common is the motor is tight against bulkhead ..
i have about 40/50mm gap and bugger all room up front,,...
can any of you show me your setups when using the m40/42 box

mines close to the bulkhead, e36 arms/mounts m5 mounts. m40 box
prob got the wrong arms fitted if the engine is sitting to far forward

Engine is mounted with E36 arms and E24 mounts.

that pretty similar to mine,, some people end up with room for a viscas fan?? how lol.. what rad did you use e30 or e36?

Realistically there isnt room for a viscous, those that have fitted them have chopped them up which wont help it pull air. You can use a slim-line diesel fan but it wont fit with a standard side tank rad

what rads do people norm use?? e30/e36,, or something diff like a small cars rad.. i used to have a fat but small rad on my piper kitcar years ago that would have prob fitted in the small front opening but cant remember for the life of me what car i got it from,,lol

E36 aircon spec rad is the most popular, fits the space nicely and is bigger than a standard E30 325i rad

nice one,, my air con rad with the car is just a steel square with aircon fittings off it ,,aand the rad is wayyyy to big.. ill keep my eye out for one like above,,
