As far as I'm aware, NGK are the recommended for ordinary use, Denso Iridium are very good for uprated ones, I used them in my VR6 and have all intentions of putting then in the E30 when the time comes

Rear disk brakes have shoes for the handbrake. No point buying them blind, I would inspect that they need done first.

You would need to inspect them really, if your handbrake is ok I'd probably leave it, if you do what I do and try to replace them, then realise your back plates are rusty, you'll either have to bodge or replace, and you have to pull the hub and replace the wheel bearing to replace the back plate to hold the shoes in place. The back plates are dealer only at £22.17+VAT plus shoes, fitting kit, and bearings. It's a can of worms if they don't really need doingpolsta wrote:sorry if this sounds like a stupid question

Only time the hand brake shoes contact the drum is when the car is stationary
so no wear takes place, unless the back plates corrode allowing the shoes to wander about within the drum...you will know when this happens,as it makes an 'orrible rattling sound!

are them ngk ones the right plugs ?
what about heater matrix, they have one on there for £40 odd = 30 with the money off, as dash is out and mines 25 years old would it be a good idea to replace it ?

NGK are the ones that always get recommended for use on BMWs.

I've only ever used NGK BPR6ES as mentioned above for my sport, its equivalent to the Bosch W8DC listed in your handbook but with NGK quality.polsta wrote:![]()

There's plenty of garages about that won't ever fit Bosch plugs.

Taking Pagid front pads as a random example: ECP = £30.60 -25% = £22.95.
Carparts4less; same pads, same part number = £21.30, plus a further discount of between a minimum of 8% and a maximum of 15% if you spend at least £50.

Including the CP4L discount on total price? Don't forget to divide the order up into separate orders of exactly £100, with any remainder making up £75 or £50.

Wonder if the same is true for demon tweaks and JJC rally, who are *slightly* cheaper. Identical website except for graphics and text, address very close. You have one company competing on ebay with cut throat prices, and another where people pay a bit more because they trust the name!Brianmoooore wrote:It's exactly the same company. You'd get £15 off of the £100 order and £5 off of the £59 order.polsta wrote:where/when does it apply that ? 12 items euros £154, 12 same items cp4l £159 , but its now asking for all my details still saying 159 is what my card wil be chargedBrianmoooore wrote:polsta wrote:actualy, cart for cart of 12 items is about the same price

Alternatively, divide into two orders of just over £75 each, and get £10 off of each. Either way, the total to be paid will be £139.
You have to enter the promo code on your 'basket' screen, then update.

Just tried a little experiment to see if what I've posted on here before still works.
I made up a random basket of bits on the CP4L site, logged in, then abandoned it at the checkout stage. Sure enough, I've now have an email from them, offering a straight 7.5% off my next order of whatever value.
This little trick can be used when you want to place an order of less than £50.
