Hope you know what is in store for you Goose! I promised myself I would never rebuild a sport ever again after mine, and over 6 months have passed and feel the same way, good luck!
Love the Tech 1 though.

Cheers

Indeed, enjoying your thread there Jim,

Not that fussed about bodywork in the short term, so long as it limps through its ticket i'll be happy, preventative cavity wax and converter treatment for the time being

:)

Good luck with this, I'm sure you'll approach it with your usual flare and it'll turn out brilliant.

I'd say those day-glo strides he's wearing a pretty straight-cut, and not a 'flare' in sight.

Well a fairly decent day resulted in the cylinder head being re installed, torqued and timed up with fastidious precision, if i get the time tomorrow i may bolt the exhaust manifold back on and have a go at the inlet.

Planing on drilling a 2mm tropical spec hole in the thermostat before the housing goes back on.

Need to grab some fresh NGK's and a Fuel Pressure Regulator at some point but no immediate rush.

Hopefully i'll be starting it some time next week

Thank you Sir!

I am quite liking them, OEM adjustable lumber support + seat heating now fitted to the touring as well!

:D

Sport needs an OEM zaust throwing on it just as soon as i get the parts!

Viscous coupling replaced this evening as the old one was dead, £30 for a Behr jobbie,

New thermostat turning up tomorrow and it will be getting a tropical spec 1.5mm hole drilled in it!

Overheat with that you Bast*rd! :D (not that it has but one can never be too sure with the m20...)

:x

Well the Rad popped on me earlier, Fantastic!

Was purging air out following swapping header tank and other associated bits came up to temp and held well,

Blipped up to 5k as i always would to help the last bubbles out and POOF! billowing steam and spray from the front end, Base of the Rad had popped in the center,

I suppose at least it didn't let go whilst driving...

Question: Best place to source a replacement Ebay/CP4L?

Also decided to replace the stat with a tropical spec jobbie with the constant flow valve, which way up should it be placed, with the valve at the top or bottom?

Its a Circoli stat -writing faced up would place the valve at the bottom -asking the question as there isn't an arrow as such...

Pic of stat.
IIRC, when you drill into the stat to replicate what you have, the hole is supposed to be at the top of the stat
