Hi,
I've tried searching but only seem to find answers for four-pot cars and I'm not sure if they're the same in this regard, I have an '88 325i, can somebody confirm which heater hose goes onto which heater pipe at the bulkhead? the BMW parts computer shows that the inlet hose that goes from the thermostat housing should be on the lower pipe and the hose that attaches to the rear of the head fits onto the upper pipe at the bulkhead whereas on my car they're opposite.
Thanks.

All cars the same. Pipe from the cylinder head goes to the bottom stub, and the top stub goes to the 'tee' hose.

Quite common to find them the wrong way around, since the 'wrong' way is the way they lie tidiest.

Yes , it does matter. The water flow will be against the valve on the heater matrix.Idol wrote:Does it matter that they are the wrong way? I would of thought not as its just hot water in and out?
Pete don't care about colour, He would shag a rainbow if he could find the end of it....
